Retirement Simply Didn’t Suit Him

The rocking chair creaked as Aetoss took-in the view from the porch of his long-sought cabin in Grizzly Hills.  This was everything he wanted, or everything he thought he wanted.  The days of peace and quiet were a balm to his soul after the many battles he fought across Azeroth - the paladin had surely done his part.  Yet, why did he look to the horizon with a sense of anticipation?  His eyes darted to his shield, now hanging as a nostalgic decoration.  Every scrape on the shield's surface was a reminder of a perilous adventure.  The crest of Stormwind was distinguishable only by silhouette now.  It reminded Aetoss of himself.  As long as the visage of that lion remained, as long as the fire burned bright in his own soul...  He knew the answer, even if a part of him didn't want to accept it.  Retirement simply didn't suit him.
